ABIS IN THE NATIONAL WEAPON IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM
ABIS can be used as a basis for a global informational network of identification and accounting of weapons, cartridges, and cartridge cases. This network would host data on all recorded cases of illegal use of firearms and on registered firearms in legal use. It can be used for departmental data exchange both at the federal and (if necessary) interstate level.
